Matt Pronger

Trained as a social worker I’m focused on changing men’s behaviours and promoting healthy relationships.

My interest is in primary prevention and early intervention. Getting in early to stop the abuse before it happens. After working in the communities sector I’m really excited to be a part of the team at Australia’s CEO Challenge.

I’ve delivered training to professionals, facilitated groups and supported individuals and families affected by domestic and family violence.

I’ve enjoyed working with young people in the LOVE BITES program: a very successful school-based domestic and family violence and sexual assault prevention training program aimed at teenagers. For me it’s really important to engage young people about respectful relationships on their level.

I’ve spent a lot of time working with dads from diverse backgrounds helping them explore their roles in greater depth, focusing on their personal development, communication, parenting skills and the changing and often complex nature of fatherhood. These opportunities have given me a unique insight into the factors that contribute to family breakdown and domestic and family violence.

The most important thing for me is to be natural and genuine in all the sessions I run.

When I’m not at work you’ll find me spending time with my family or charging around on my mountain bike.
