We asked ACEOC founding Board Member and Darkness to Daylight Founder Rob Reed ‘What does domestic and family violence prevention mean to you in your role steering an organisation like ACEOC?’
I’ve been involved with ACEOC since its inception some 15 years ago and in that time I have had my eyes opened to the horrific extent to which domestic and family violence impacts workplaces and our community more broadly. But I’ve also had my eyes opened to the fact that by working together in our workplaces and in our community more broadly we can go a long way towards creating a world where domestic and family violence is no longer tolerated and no longer occurs. I’ve seen awareness of the issue and the desire to do something about it grow exponentially over the last few years – evidenced, for example, in the growing number of people taking part in the Darkness To Daylight Challenge run. Being involved with ACEOC means being involved with an organisation that is making a unique and effective contribution to bringing about a world without violence.
