How do I register?

Each participant will need to complete and pay for their registration through MyCause. If you are a part of a corporate team your registration fee will be covered by the corporate registration.

How do I register a team?

Corporate teams need to be registered through MyCause by paying the registration fee.

What is the cost?

Corporate and Social Teams are covered by a one off fee paid by the team captain. This year we would like to see some fundraising targets met through team efforts or individually. Corporate registrations close 20 May 2017.

Individual Participants 

Individuals are encouraged to register for whatever event suits them best! You can try your hand at the 110km overnight individual run, or join in in the morning of the 24th for the 10km run or 3km walk.

How many members can I have in a team?

We encourage you to split the distance (if registering for the 110km run) between as many team members as you wish. You can split the run into 3km, 7km, 10km or 20km legs – any way you would like. All relay runners must advise marshal point 8 when they enter and exit the course so we can keep track of all runners.

A different pricing structure is in place dependent on the number of participants.

What is the route?

This is a 10km loop starting and finishing at the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands. 7km from South Bank Cultural Forecourt to Holman Street Ferry Terminal (Kangaroo Point) and back, then 3km from South Bank Cultural Forecourt to Kurilpa Park and back.

What is the route like?

The route is along South Bank’s pedestrian paths next to the Brisbane River with the stunning backdrop of Brisbane’s iconic city views. At no point will participants cross any roads during the run/walk. There will be two bikeway crossings and these will be marshalled. Participants are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and respect the use of the paths by the public, cyclists and other runners. There are many points at which supporters can view the participants.

How safe is a night run at South Bank?

We have worked with the Queensland Police Service and Brisbane City Council to ensure that the route that our participants will run along is. Personnel from the Queensland Police Service and Australian Defence Force will be on-site for the duration of the event.

I am doing the 110km run on Wednesday 3rd May, where do I start and at what time?

6.30pm at Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands. Please arrive 30 minutes before your start time to sign in. (You can, of course, first attend the Candle Lighting Vigil at 5:30pm).

How long do I have to complete the 110km challenge?

The closing circle completion ceremony will be held for all participants at 7.15am on Thursday 4th May followed by a free breakfast.

What do I need to complete the 110km challenge?

We recommend that you:
• have a medical check-up before you do this challenge
• bring a water bottle or hydration belt – there is water provided along the route
• bring your own supplies of spare clothes, food, energy food/drinks; particularly if you are covering the distance yourself
• check out the weather the night before and on the day in order to gauge appropriate clothing
• plan to get there early and pre-organise transportation

We ask you to:
• wear high visibility gear
• wear a head torch

The 10km challenge starts at 5.30am from the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands. Please arrive 30 minutes before your start time to sign in.

I am doing the 3km walk, where do I start; at what time and how long do I have to complete the challenge?

The 3km challenge starts at 6.00am on Thursday 4th May from the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands. Please arrive 30 minutes before your start time to sign in.

The closing circle completion ceremony will be held for all participants at 7.15am on Thursday 4th May followed by a free breakfast.

What happens at the end?

A very important closing circle ceremony will be held at 7.15am on Thursday 4th May at the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank Parklands where we will acknowledge what we have done as a community and honour the message we have carried.

How do I get to the Cultural Forecourt in South Bank?

The closest bus stop is the Cultural Centre (300m from forecourt), closest train station is South Brisbane (250m from forecourt) and the closest City Cat is South Bank 2 (190m from forecourt). Work out your at translink.com.au.. Secure parking is also available throughout South Bank.

Where can I park near the Cultural Forecourt?

How do I get my participant pack including T-shirt?

The time and date for collection will be advised via email closer to the event.

May I dress up?

Yes. We encourage it! Wherever possible, though, we encourage participants to wear our T-shirts which display the message behind the run.

May I use a baby jogger, MP3 player or iPod, roller blades, scooter, headphones or ear buds?

We do not forbid baby joggers, roller blades and scooters but request that participants using these are mindful of their environment and of other participants. MP3 players, iPods, headphones or ear buds are discouraged for safety reasons.

What if I get injured?

If you are injured, unwell or distressed STOP and move to the side of the path. Notify the nearest marshal. First Aid kits are located at each marshal point.
